Our winery is in Monteprandone, in the South of the Marche Region, close to the Abruzzo.
From Il Sapore della Luna the panorama opens on the surrounding hills and valleys, that are framed on one side by the Adriatic Sea, on the other side by the Appenninis.
Into this marvelous land it is still used the “mixed cultivation”: fields, cereal fields, olive trees and vineyards alternate each other. The Marche Region hides a lot of cultural and traditional treasures, all to be discovered and appreciated. This amazing Region extends along the Adriatic coast and has sandy beaches, a background of green hills and mountains: a landscape characterized by Medieval villages and, of course, by a lot of vineyards.
The grapes are cultivated in the area of Monteprandone, till to reach the perfect ripening thanks to the climate of the valley: cold in the growing time and hot, thanks to the Scirocco and to the brezza wind coming from the Adriatic Sea.
The biologic wine made by Il Sapore della Luna, that is becoming one of the most appreciated wineries in the Marche, thanks to its biologic production, is due to the passionate work of our staff and to an extraordinary nature.
The Piceno territory is indeed one of the areas that better is suitable to make wine. From the hills to the Adriatic Sea, to the Ascensione and Sibillini Mountains, the landscape is full of wine houses, vineyards and olive trees. This area in the Marche was at first known thanks to its red wines, the first to gain national awards, to finally be known even thanks to its white wines.
